Puppy, puppy, puppy...Active, lovable, and all puppy; DJ is an outgoing guy with lots of love to give. He's doing good with his potty training and with the other Basset in his foster home. If you've got the patience and time to train him, he's going to grow up to be a great family member.
Rex is a young, charming, two year old Basset with a good amount of Labrador Retriever mixed in; a Bassador! He is energetic and gets along well with the other dogs. He will need a securely fenced yard that has more than a four foot fence. Rex loves people and is ready for his forever home. Could it be your home?
Puppy, puppy, puppy...Active, lovable, and all puppy, Jerry is just about as cool as they get. He's as busy as a little guy could be and will grow up to be a wonderful addition to any family with time, training, and patience.
Don't be fooled by his rough and tumble looks. Parker might be a boy with a hard-luck past but he's not one to dwell on his physical scars. Life is too good to waste worrying when there are friends to chase and wrestle, pats and cuddles to enjoy, meals and treats to eat, toys to chew, and smells to sniff! Parker came from the mid-west and arrived at the rescue in really sorry shape; heartworm positive with flea dermatitis and seasonal allergies. He completed treatment some time ago and is now a healthy, happy boy whose allergies are controlled with medication. His coat won't grow back but Parker knows that a few bald spots can't slow him down! Parker has a big personality despite his difficult past. He's friendly to people and other dogs, playful with the younger pups, active, and curious. This joyful, goofy boy has waited a long time for a home to call his own. At almost seven years old, he still has many years and lots of love to give to the right person. Could you be the one to help this big-hearted, resilient hound find his happily ever after?
Rescued from a life of having puppies and living in a kennel situation, it's time for this little one to have a home and a family who give her a warm and loving home. She will be ready really soon and with some time and patience she will be a fun, loving member of your family. It's very rare to find this breed in rescue. We strongly suggest that you read up on the breed as they are not related to Basset Hounds in any way. But, they are a fun and loving breed.
This three year old guy couldn’t possibly be any sweeter! He’s house-trained to use a dog door but likes it when you open the whole door for him. Gussy struggles with allergies and is currently on a regime of medications, baths, and (his most favorite thing) organic coconut oil rubbed under his arms, neck and between his toes. He’ll also need help with his weight, so walks and another dog to play with would be great in his new home. Gussy will need a family who will stay committed to managing his allergies and weight so that he can be the happiest, healthiest basset hound he can be! Are you up for it? He’ll sure make it up to you as only a basset hound can!
Mickey is now ready for his forever home! This active little guy is fully recovered from leg surgery and ready to move on with the next chapter of his life. Sweet, loving and very playful, Mickey would love to live with another dog! And, a bonus, he's not afraid of household objects like vacuums and loud noises.
Marshall is an adult Basset; a perfect gentleman and friendly with other dogs and people. He is very mellow and low key but does like to be where his people are...inside or out. Marshall is housetrained to use a doggie door and is past the chewing stage. He will fit easily into a new home as long as it's the right one for him!
A typical basset puppy; playful, curious, friendly and basically untrained. Cowboy will make lovely addition to any family. It will be like bring a 'puppy-puppy' into your home. Even at 11 months, he'll need to start at the very beginning with training. Trust us when we say he'll grow up to be great hound!
Slinky is a handsome, older, red and white gentleman. He has a little arthritis going on and would prefer to be in a less populated household. He'd probably be okay as an only dog. He is very insecure and will bark if he is separated from his people. Except for the arthritis, he is in great physical shape and could probably do short walks around the neighborhood. A low-activity senior family that is home most of the time would be perfect for Slinky.
Scrappy is a young basset mixed with something a bit larger; maybe a St. Bernard? She is a very needy puppy that could certainly benefit from some training. Because of her size and lack of training, she comes across as a little aggressive. She will need a loving home that can give her some structure. She is housetrained to use a doggie door but may need a refresher if she needs to ask to go out.
Oreo is an even-tempered friendly young male Basset. He likes both people and other dogs but would do well with or without other siblings. He is housetrained to use a doggie door, past the puppy chewing stage, but still young enough to totally enjoy playing.

Chonk and Molly are a charming mid-aged couple that would like to complete your home. They are very warm and affectionate. Chonk and Molly are bonded and must be adopted and stay together.
Junior is a fun loving Basset puppy. He is good with other dogs but a little timid when he first meets new people. He is as busy and curious as puppies can be. His house training is coming along but will need some work. He loves being both outside and inside. He is playful and gentle. Junior will be a lovely addition to a family with the time and energy to spend with a young Basset puppy.

Lafayette is a loving, playful, and an affectionate 'Baby Basset.' He mostly just wants to go along with whatever the crowd is doing and gets along great with the other dogs--both large and small. He would most definitely need to have a playmate in forever home. Lafayette also likes to get his fair share of attention from his people.
Hank is a friendly dog that would prefer not to share his people and would be great as an only dog. He is very playful and attentive to his people. His energy level is still high and he will definitely want his people to play with him. Here he is waiting on you to walk in the door!
Lucky and Molly are adorable Basset blends with a high activity level. They are loving, cuddly, and affectionate with people. They are good with other dogs but really only need each other to be happy. They'll surely show you what happy looks like and trust us, it's contagious! Please consider adding this pair to your home. Lucky and Molly are bonded and must be adopted together.
Minnie is on the small side as Bassets Hounds go. She has the wonderful Basset personality, just in a smaller package. Minnie is still playful and loves toys, especially if they have a squeaker. She would be good with another dog or as an only dog. Please consider adding sweet Minnie to your family.
Daisy is a lovely playful youngster. She's very good with other dogs and people. To be the happiest girl she can be, Daisy will need another dog as a playmate in the home where she lives.
Ellie Mae is a petite basset. She's very shy and has not been well socialized. She will need a family that can be very patient with her until she trusts them.
Cora, a sweet older Beagle/Basset mix--a 'Bagel' as she is affectionately called, would love a quiet spot in a home with a family of her own. Cora has more Beagle characteristics than Basset and she will add that special 'old dog' love to a family. Cora, like most seniors, would appreciate a quieter home and is eligible for our Forever Foster Program. You give her a loving home and Utah Friends of Basset Hounds helps cover necessary expenses! It's a win-win.

Buford and Bailey are a lovely pair of bonded boys and each one has his own charming personality. They will be at their best when adopted together. Both boys like other dogs and people and they love to play, play, play! Bailey is a bit laid back and Buford is an all out player; both boys are cuddly and loving and totally enjoy being with people. They are housetrained to use a doggie door.

Rudy is a young and playful guy looking for a home with another playmate that can match his activity level. He is good with other dogs and affectionate with people. Due to his high activity level, he would probably not be a good addition to a family with smaller children. Children over 12 years of age should be okay. Please consider Rudy as your next family addition.
Elwood is a handsome, middle-aged boy; still young enough for an occasional walk around the block but mellow enough to just hang out at home, too. He's friendly with other dogs and people and housetrained to use a doggie door. Elwood would be a great addition to a family that is looking for a laid back hound.
Luna is a 3 month old mix. We're not sure what the mix is but it could be a larger hound breed or something else altogether (Great Dane, perhaps). She came to UFBH from a very full shelter with minimal information. She is doing very well in her foster home. She sleeps thru the night and uses the doggie door like a pro!
Handsome Hambone is a Basset Hound mix "tuxedo" dog- all black with a white patch on his chest. He wears his heart on his sleeve, loves snuggling and hanging out on your lap. Hambone is ready to share an endless love with you and your family. He is tall for a Basset however he is skinny and lightweight for a perfect lap fit. Hambone loves toys of all kinds and being talked to. He is good with other dogs and uses the dog door. Hambone is looking for his best friend- apply to adopt today!
Princess is the perfect age and past most of the puppy stuff. But she's still young enough to be a very playful little girl! She's a little timid when meeting new people and dogs but will become very friendly and loving once she gets to know you. Princess could be the perfect addition to your family!
Even though I am not a basset, my friends at UFBH have agreed to help me find a new home. I'm just a baby and look just like my mom and my brother, Billie. I was the first to get named and inspired the names for the rest of the "Wild West Bunch." I guess that kind of says it all. I'm curious, busy, sweet, loving and everything you would expect from a puppy. I'm a special blend of breeds, unknown to all of us, so it will be fun to watch me grow up! We do know that my mom, who is also available for adoption, is under 30 pounds and my dad under 35 pounds. This means I will probably be somewhere between those weights. (Special adoption fees apply.)
Duke is an older gentleman; very calm and friendly with other dogs and people. He would be happy living with another dog or as an only dog. Please consider giving this sweetheart a forever home.
Even though I am not a basset, my friends at UFBH have agreed to help me find a new home. I'm just a baby and the cutest little fluff ball you'd ever want to meet. My foster mom gave us all "wild west" names. I'm special and the "Belle" of the ball. I'm friendly, snuggly, curious, busy, and all the things you would expect from a puppy. I'm a special blend of breeds, unknown to all of us, so it will be exciting to watch me grow up! We do know that my mom, who is also available for adoption, is under 30 pounds. So I probably will be, also. My dad weighed in at about 35 pounds. (Special adoption fees apply.)
Even though I am not a basset, my friends at UFBH have agreed to help me find a new home. I'm just a baby and the smallest of the litter. My foster mom has named me Annie after Annie Oakley because I'm such a small feisty thing; always getting into everything and very curious. I'm also very sweet and love to snuggle and be held. I'm a special blend of breeds, unknown to all of us, so it will be exciting to watch me grow up! We do know that my mom, who is also available for adoption, is under 30 pounds. So I probably will be, also. My dad weighed in at about 35 pounds. (Special adoption fees apply.)
Dallas a beautiful middle-aged lady with lots of love to give. Her entire life prior to rescue was spent having babies, babies, and more babies. She'll not be doing that anymore! It's easy to tell that she has long been a momma in both her body and her disposition; she is very mellow and accepting of all. Dallas is housetrained to use a doggie door and gets along great with the other dogs and people in her life. Her social skills with strangers are good and she walks reasonably well on a leash for short periods. Please consider Dallas as a lovely, mellow addition to your family.
Izzy is a lovely older lady that gets along well with other dogs and people; she would also do well as an only dog. She's quiet, easy-going, and just waiting for someone to be her Forever Family. Izzy really just needs a nice soft bed, regular meals, and love. Please consider adopting Izzy into your home. Izzy is eligible for our Forever Foster Program.
Quinnie is a beautiful young lady. She's friendly and outgoing; she likes to play but not too rough. She's housetrained to use a doggie door.
Bear is a very well-adjusted older Basset mix with good manners and he is house trained to use a doggie door. He may need a little direction if you don't have a dog door, but will learn quickly; especially if he has another dog to follow. This sweet old guy would be happiest living with another dog. If you're looking for a wonderful mellow addition to your family, Bear is the one for you!
Shirley (with blue eyes) and LaVerne are a bonded pair; pretty much sisters! They were rescued while living on their own and trying to survive the wild coyotes that were attacking them. In spite of this horrible experience, both are loving and friendly with both people and other dogs. LaVerne and Shirley will need to be adopted together. These are two very special girls who will bring much love and Basset-ness to any home they join.
Penny is one of our middle-aged ladies that is looking for a quieter home. She has the energy to do a walk around the block but will probably not be a big player. She is still interested and curious but also pretty mellow. Penny is housetrained to use a doggie door and is good with the other dogs and people. She does well on a leash and is okay meeting new people as long as they don't come at her too fast. Penny would make a great addition to a family that just wants a dog to hang out with them.
